On 1 December, the ENLIGHT University Alliance has launched the call for Impact Awards to recognise and give visibility to research endeavours at ENLIGHT partner universities that are exemplars in planning for and achieving impact. Applications are invited from research teams from ENLIGHT partner universities.
On 23 November the 10 ENLIGHT Rectors endorsed joint Open Science principles on the occasion of the ENLIGHT General Meeting in Uppsala. With the joint statement ENLIGHT aims to create a common basis for an Open Science culture.
Academics and researchers from Bordeaux, Ghent, Galway, Groningen, Tartu and Uppsala joined the new Nursing network led by UPV/EHU in a first meeting to set off collaborations across the Alliance. "In Nursing research, multidisciplinarity is one of the keys to improving people's health.", claimed leader Saloa Unanue. The group includes experts in varied disciplines from vascular access to pediatric nursing, caregivers´ language analysis, neuroscience, midwifery or vulnerable communities´ care implications. On 28 and 29 September 2023, the first ENLIGHT Cancer Days were organised at the University of Bordeaux, on the initiative of the Bordeaux Institute of Oncology. This congress gathered researchers from 5 Universities of ENLIGHT. The scientists from the University of Galway, Ghent, Göttingen and the Basque Country discussed the current academic development in cancer research. These discussions set up a path for possible future collaborative research work among the ENLIGHT’s partners.

On 16-17 Oct 2024, 20 teachers and researchers from ENLIGHT gathered in Uppsala, Sweden, to explore synergies and educational development opportunities within the thematic area of ‘A Just Sustainable City’. With the first day placing focus on joint learning and discussions around the participants’ respective research field, the second day explored new education formats being realized in the new ENLIGHT project period 2023-2027, and their implications for teaching and research on urban equity.

The 2023 Teaching and Learning Conference took place from 11 - 13 October in Bordeaux. The central theme ‘Empowering students for tomorrow’ brought over 200 students, teachers and educational developers together to share and discuss innovative forms of teaching. Participants from all 10 partner universities engaged in workshops, interactive presentations and poster sessions with a stated aim of spreading educational ideas throughout these institutions.

By creating a stage to showcase student led initiatives promoting sustainability on university campuses ENLIGHT hope to inspire others to take similar action. Therefore ENLIGHT launched a global call for the presentation of such projects. These projects were presented in online sessions to a jury of students from the ENLIGHT Student Network and from ENLIGHT university Green Offices. The jury selected four projects to be presented with the ENLIGHT Global Citizenship 2023 for their great efforts. The award ceremony was held on October 12 in conjunction with the ENLIGHT Teaching & Learning Award during the ENLIGHT Teaching & Learning Conference in Bordeaux.
The second virtual gathering of the ENLIGHT Alumni Professionals Network, held on October 16, 2023, saw representatives from seven of the ten ENLIGHT universities come together online to discuss and deliberate on the crucial theme of Alumni Strategy.
Between 2 and 6 October 2023, Vice-Rector for International Relations Jozef Tancer from Comenius University (CU) and representatives of a number of Comenius University faculties visited three ENLIGHT partner universities. During their visits CU representatives sought ways of broadening the cooperation among universities.
