STAFF WEEKS
ENLIGHT Staff Weeks
ENLIGHT staff weeks are opportunities for professional development and international peer learning supporting teaching and learning activities. The aim of these staff weeks is to widen professional horizons, boost networking and cooperation across ENLIGHT. Staff weeks are arranged around such themes as lifelong learning, impactful collaboration and creating opportunities for internationalisation.
Each ENLIGHT university will organise a two-to-five-day Staff Week training every academic year. The trainings will take place on site and cover a wide range of topics from funding to career services. Please explore our Staff Week calendar with a variety of training options for support staff members of the network. Funding for mobility costs is covered by Erasmus+ KA1.
Why organise a staff week?
- Enhance Collaboration Across Institutions: Staff weeks foster cross-institutional relationships and teamwork, promoting a unified approach to educational support and sharing best practices among universities in ENLIGHT.
- Professional Development and Training: These events provide targeted professional development opportunities, helping teaching staff to upgrade their skills, stay current with the latest educational technologies and methodologies and better support the academic community.
- Cultural Exchange and Diversity Awareness: Bringing together staff from different cultural and academic backgrounds enhances understanding and appreciation of diverse perspectives, enriching the educational environment and fostering a more inclusive campus
- Innovation and Best Practices Sharing: Staff weeks are platforms for sharing innovative learning and teaching solutions and best practices, leading to the adoption of effective strategies and the improvement of services across the alliance.
-
Networking and Community Building: They offer valuable networking opportunities, enabling staff to build professional connections, exchange ideas, and create a sense of community and mutual support within the alliance.
Please get in touch with your institutional ENLIGHT team to find out more about organising a staff week.

Double Doctorates: Strategies and Alignment
Unfortunately, the Staff Week for this spring has been cancelled. New dates will be announced as soon as possible for this autumn.
Summary
During this staff week, we will share experiences and exchange best practices in fostering international collaboration through double doctorate (cotutelle or double degree PhD) projects. The ENLIGHT central working group on Double Doctorate collaboration is looking at aligning the PhD regulations of our universities. But what are our experiences so far? And if we increase double doctorate collaboration within ENLIGHT, what can we expect? In this staff week, we will share our universities’ strategies, experiences and identify opportunities among ENLIGHT partners for pursuing this form of collaboration, as well as challenges that may be expected. Ultimately, the goal of this staff week is to learn from each other about the best ways to set-up and implement double doctorate projects and to identify promising double doctorate connections within ENLIGHT.
