This webinar introduces Peer Community In (PCI), a non-profit initiative founded in 2016 to provide free and transparent peer review for preprints. PCI consists of 18 thematic communities that evaluate and recommend preprints based on rigorous peer review, ensuring their quality, reliability, and citability without requiring publication in traditional journals. Recommended articles receive a DOI and can be cited like journal articles, with the option to be published in Peer Community Journal or submitted elsewhere.
The session will feature a presentation by Alain Queffelec (University of Bordeaux), covering PCI’s structure, evaluation process, and benefits. A discussion will follow to exchange experiences and perspectives on PCI’s role in reshaping scientific publishing.
