ENLIGHT Mid-year Meeting, June 15-17

The National University of Ireland, Galway hosted the ENLIGHT mid-year Meeting from June 15th – 17th, 2022.  There were 100 attendees including Rectors, Directors, Student Network and the work package leading teams of academic leaders and coordinators of both the Erasmus+ and the RISE project communities.

ENLIGHT RISE – Research and Innovation Agenda with and for Society started in September 2021, and the mid-year meeting provided the opportunity to bring both Erasmus+ and RISE communities together.

The meeting focussed on the ENLIGHT achievements to date, looking back at our virtual Kick-Off Week in March 2021, launching our first challenge-based learning pilot programs and looking at the upcoming courses planned for 2022/2023.

There were many successful events and workshops that took place such as the Teaching & Learning Conference and the European Dialogues.

The meeting also provided the opportunity to look at the long-term vision of ENLIGHT as a basis to initiate the next application under the 2023 European Universities call and to enhance cohesion across the work packages and between the Erasmus+ and RISE projects along parallel and joint meetings.

Ireland’s 50 years of EU membership was also marked and celebrated at the meeting.

The meetings were concluded by the outgoing ENLIGHT Chair, Prof. Ciarán Ó hÓgartaigh, National University of Ireland Galway as he handed over the role to Prof. Hiltraud Casper-Hehne, University of Göttingen.
