This webinar is aimed at ENLIGHT staff and students, especially decision-makers, board members and colleagues working in finance, strategy and development, sustainability, environmental protection, and faculties.

About the speakers:
Dr. Hilmar Hofmann, Head of the Staff Unit Sustainability, University of Konstanz (Germany)
Currently, Hofmann is Head of the Staff Unit Sustainability at the University of Konstanz. The unit’s mission is to support and coordinate sustainable development across all fields of action. It promotes the active involvement of all status groups and administrative areas of the university, helping to drive and strengthen the transformation towards a more sustainable University of Konstanz.
They do this by:
• Promoting dialogue on sustainability among employees and students to develop and establish a common understanding
• Setting up a framework of sustainability policies through a participatory process
• Actively promoting and implementing structures and measures for sustainable development
• Taking an active role in regional, national, and international sustainability networks
With a background as an environmental engineer and scientist in aquatic physics, he is committed to fostering a more sustainable future for organisations, people and the planet. He sees his role as being a sounding board for all members of the university who wish to shape and implement sustainability.

Nils Lindh, Administrative Officer, University of Borås (Sweden)
Nils Lindh is an administrative officer at the University of Borås, where he coordinates systematic efforts for sustainable development. He is also actively involved in international collaboration, with a particular focus on Africa, currently through a university-driven innovation: a reusable product for sanitary protection.
The University of Borås conducts systematic work for sustainable development with the aim of contributing to a more sustainable society both locally and globally. Through education and research, students are equipped with the knowledge and skills to actively promote sustainability in their future professional roles. Research in this area is characterized by innovation, interdisciplinary approaches, and collaboration with society. The university has been certified according to the ISO 14001 environmental management standard since 2013 and actively works to reduce its environmental impact. Following a decision by the Vice-Chancellor, the university has introduced a carbon budget aimed at reducing emissions by 7 percent annually from a 2019 baseline, with the entire organization responsible for the reduction and guiding targets set for faculties and other functions.

Prof. Dr. Edwin Woerdman, Professor of Markets and Regulation, University of Groningen (The Netherlands)
Edwin Woerdman (b. 1970) has been Professor of Markets and Regulation at the University of Groningen, the Netherlands, since 2018. He has also served as Managing Board Member of the Groningen Centre of Energy Law and Sustainability (GCELS) since 2007.
He obtained his PhD on climate law and economics in Groningen in 2002, after graduating cum laude in political science at Radboud University Nijmegen in 1996.
His research specialised in energy and carbon market regulation, concentrating on emissions trading and other tradable rights. Woerdman has published more than one hundred articles, chapters and monographs, including Essential EU Climate Law (Edward Elgar) and Politiek en Politicologie (Noordhoff). Two of his papers on emissions trading were ranked among the Top 20 ‘Most Downloaded Articles’ in the Review of Law and Economics.
