On February 8 at 3pm, this semesters’ third ENLIGHT lecture on “Health & Digitalization” will be hosted and livestreamed online. As digitalization is steadily progressing, more and more areas of life get revolutionized by the new methods and opportunities it brings about. Health Care being one of these areas, this lecture takes a closer look on how digitalization impacts a variety of aspects such as health inequalities, mental health care or the documentation of patient records.
The first presentation with the title “Reducing health inequalities by opening up E-Health access for digitally non-skilled people” is given by Esther Metting who is currently working as an Assistant Professor at the Medical Faculty and Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Groningen. Prof Metting led different E-health projects in a large health care organization and is active as board member or advisor in several patient organizations. Her hands-on experience in clinical, behavioral and implementation science have led to a solid and multidisciplinary basis for health research.
Then Prof. Michal Hajdúk, Associate Professor for Psychology at Comenius University Bratislava talks about his current project IMMERSE on the “Implementation of Digital Mobile Mental Health across the Europe“. Most of his work is focusing on individuals with severe mental illness, such as schizophrenia. In his research he is trying to understand how difficulties in processing of social cues (facial expression, intentions) lead to problems in day – to – day interactions.
Lastly, Josefin Hagström who is PhD student at the department of Women's and Children's health at Uppsala University gives a talk about “Online access to minors' records: Experiences among adolescents, parents, and healthcare professionals” As a member of the DOME Consortium Ms. Hagström is examining patients’ access to their electronic health records, specifically in the context of young patients and their caregivers. Her research is generally focused on digital solutions within healthcare and education as well as influenced by cognitive psychology and linguistics.
All members from the ENLIGHT community, external partners and wider public are welcome to join the lecture. You can register and participate in a Zoom Session or tune in on the ENLIGHT YouTube Channel where the lecture will be broadcasted live. Registration for the Zoom Session is possible on the website of the University of Göttingen (https://uni-goettingen.de/en/654488.html)
Networking event after the lecture for researchers from ENLIGHT universities
Each lecture is followed by a networking event for the scientific community. In the brand-new virtual space, the researchers from ENLIGHT universities can not only continue the discussion on the lecture`s topic but also use the opportunity to identify common research interests. This event serves as a platform for developing new ideas for future cooperation within the network. The ENLIGHT team supports this process by providing insights on funding opportunities. Researchers from all stages are more than welcome to join in! Please register here.
{slider About ENLIGHT Lecture Series}
The ENLIGHT lecture series takes place each semester and represents one of the flagship domains which are key determinants of societal well-being and sustainability. For our ENLIGHT lectures, scientists, and researchers from across the ENLIGHT network come together to discuss different perspectives on and approaches to combat climate change. The topics in this fall's lecture series range from food & sustainability to the impact of climate change on migration.
