End of August 2019, representatives from nine European universities met up to form a new cooperation and kick-off a joint application in the framework of the second call for European Universities Networks.
The new consortium will join forces of the two existing university networks U4Society (Ghent (BE), Göttingen (DE), Tartu (EE),Groningen (NL), Uppsala (SE)) and BBG Alliance (Basque Country (ES), Bordeaux (FR), Galway (IE)) as well as of the Comenius University of Bratislava (SK) as a ninth partner.
During the conference, former proposals were presented and compared in order to identify common focus themes in research and education and to frame a common narrative of the consortium. The Promotion of Quality of Live, Sustainability and Global Engagement through Higher Education Transformation are only a few of the common interests of the universities.
Other important points on the conference’s agenda were concrete outputs/outcomes; possible joint activities such as various forms of mobility as well as a name for the consortium were the main objectives of lively and fruitful discussions. Furthermore, organisational questions were answered and the tasks and roles within the collaboration effectively divided.
