Student led projects on sustainability on university campuses celebrated during the ENLIGHT Global Citizenship Award ceremony

By creating a stage to showcase student led initiatives promoting sustainability on university campuses ENLIGHT hope to inspire others to take similar action. Therefore ENLIGHT launched a global call for the presentation of such projects. These projects were presented in online sessions to a jury of students from the ENLIGHT Student Network and from ENLIGHT university Green Offices. The jury selected four projects to be presented with the ENLIGHT Global Citizenship 2023 for their great efforts. The award ceremony was held on October 12 in conjunction with the ENLIGHT Teaching & Learning Award during the ENLIGHT Teaching & Learning Conference in Bordeaux.

ENLIGHT Alumni Network

The second virtual gathering of the ENLIGHT Alumni Professionals Network, held on October 16, 2023, saw representatives from seven of the ten ENLIGHT universities come together online to discuss and deliberate on the crucial theme of Alumni Strategy.

Comenius on ENLIGHT Tour

Between 2 and 6 October 2023, Vice-Rector for International Relations Jozef Tancer from Comenius University (CU) and representatives of a number of Comenius University faculties visited three ENLIGHT partner universities. During their visits CU representatives sought ways of broadening the cooperation among universities.

Jacquelien Scherpen new rector at the University of Groningen

The UG Supervisory Board has appointed Prof. Jacquelien Scherpen as Rector Magnificus and member of the Board of the University of Groningen. The appointment will cover a period of four years, starting on 1 September 2023. Jacquelien Scherpen succeeds Cisca Wijmenga, the previous rector magnificus.
