Save the date: “Strategies against racism as a cross-cutting issue for European Universities"

Lecture: 25.10.2021

Workshop 3. & 10.11.2021

Knowledge of how racism works, especially in the academic realm, and how we are caught up in it in various ways, and the ability to counteract it are important elements of becoming able to work together towards more discrimination-sensitive European Universities.

The Project Strategies against racism as a cross-cutting issue for European Universities” consists of a lecture (open for all) and a workshop (aimed at and open for employees of the ENLIGHT universities, esp. teachers, lecturers, researchers, as well as science management staff). It offers possibilities to raise knowledge and to reflect on one’s own position in the context of racism and further helps to open up paths to change.

The lecture "Racism in European Universities – Origins, Continuities and Ways of Expression" will take place on Monday the 25th of October 2021 at 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (online via Zoom) and is open for everybody interested. Only a short registration is necessary, which will soon be available via the project’s website.

The workshop "Strategies against racism as a cross-cutting issue for European Universities" will take place on two consecutive Wednesdays, the 3rd and 10th of November (online via Zoom). The Workshop is open for university employees, esp. those who act as multipliers (teachers, lecturers, researchers, as well as science management staff) of the ENLIGHT-member universities. Here, an application is necessary. It will soon be available via the dedicated website.

The lecture and workshop can be attended independently of each other.

Lecture and workshop are organised by the Equal Opportunities and Diversity Unit of the University of Göttingen within the framework of and funded by the DAAD project "ENLIGHT TRANSFORM".
