Digital and international in Life Sciences (Göttingen)

With its new project “liveSciences3” the University of Göttingen, starting with the life sciences, seeks to improve the international experience of its student through extended and improved digital study offers.

The project is supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) with around 2.2 Million Euros over a funding period of three years. “liveSciences3” is only one out of six projects that were chosen from 70 applications for the funding line “International Mobility and Cooperation digital (IMKD)”.

Prof. Dr. Hiltraud Casper -Hehne, Vice President for Internationalisation at the University of Göttingen stated that the goal of the project is to build a transnational network for teaching and learning that focuses on sustainability and that integrate digital study offers into existing curricula and that promotes virtual mobility of students.

Under the lead of the Centre for Biodiversity and Sustainable Land Use researchers from the Faculties for Agricultural Sciences, Forestry and Forest Ecology as well as the Faculty for Biology and Psychology are collaboration with partner universities from Chile, Costa Rica, France, Denmark, the Netherlands and Bosnia Herzegovina. Together they aim to establish a network of international and interdisciplinary cooperation in the teaching of life sciences that is based on a long history of successful collaborative projects such as in form of double - degrees.
