Our research group at Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia has extensive experience investigating the gut microbiota across a wide range of populations, including healthy individuals as well as patients with chronic non-communicable diseases such as obesity, pediatric cancer, and multiple sclerosis. We are particularly interested in the influence of physical activity, dietary patterns, and probiotic supplementation on gut microbial composition and associated health outcomes.
We welcome collaboration with teams across disciplines such as:
• Microbiology and molecular biology
• Nutrition and dietetics
• Exercise physiology and physical activity research
• Clinical research in chronic diseases
• Biostatistics and multi-omics data integration
The goal is to establish a vibrant ENLIGHT Thematic Network to share expertise, align methodologies, and develop joint projects, courses, and publications. Furthermore, opportunities for collaborative grant applications and student exchange initiatives are envisaged.
