Revisit the first ENLIGHT Teaching and Learning Conference

‘Learning from and with each other’ was the baseline of the successful first ENLIGHT Teaching and Learning Conference in Ghent this past November. The yearly conference brings together academic staff, educational developers and students to exchange on innovative teaching practices and build collective knowledge on the educational goals of ENLIGHT.

A vibrant community of more than 170 participants, including 40 students, gathered for an inspiring keynote by Professor Eric Mazur (Harvard University) and over 40 sessions and workshops in which inspiring good-practices were shared and discussed. Judging from the conversations and the vibe at the venue, this edition sparked motivation and enthusiasm to exchange ideas, co-create joint modules and programmes within the ENLIGHT network.

The winner and runners-up of the ENLIGHT Teaching and Learning Award 2021 were celebrated during a ceremony hosted by Ghent University student Ward Van Belle. The ENLIGHT Night Life Band livened up the ceremony. The award highlights a course that makes use of active and peer learning, as well as feedback. This year the winner was the team from the University of Groningen, the Ghent and Bordeaux nominees shared the second place as runners up.
