Immersion education is internationally recognised as vital for protecting minoritised languages and fostering multilingual communities. This project investigates how student teachers in these sectors experience and negotiate their evolving identities as minoritised language speakers, learners, and future educators, exploring the affective dimensions—particularly language anxiety and enjoyment—that shape their professional trajectories and commitment to multilingualism and minoritised language education. We aim to develop a pedagogical framework and learning resources that support student teacher wellbeing and identity development. The project uses a research-practice partnership approach that positions pre-service teachers as co-researchers and knowledge creators. Participants will function as co-researchers through structured virtual seminars and collaborative working sessions, comparing findings across contexts, identifying transferable insights, and co-developing frameworks for pedagogical interventions.
