ENLIGHT Teacher Education Network Meets in Bratislava to Shape the Future of Teacher Training
Over two inspiring days in Bratislava, the ENLIGHT Teacher Education Network brought together colleagues from nine European teacher education programmes to exchange ideas, inspire one another, and critically reflect on the content and structure of their curricula. The meeting created space for meaningful dialogue on how teacher education across Europe can continue to evolve in response to new challenges and opportunities.
A key focus of the gathering was the development of new Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs) — innovative 3-credit international blended courses designed to connect student teachers across borders. These programmes enable future educators to collaborate internationally, strengthen their professional practice, and broaden their educational perspectives. One such initiative, the Teacher Education Module, offers students a unique opportunity to engage in cross-cultural learning while combining online and in-person mobility components.
The Bratislava meeting highlighted a shared commitment to forward-looking, collaborative teacher education. Special thanks go to Ruben Vanderlinde for coordinating the network, and to Eva Faithová and Michaela Hrotekova for the warm hospitality at Comenius University in Bratislava.
The outcomes of these two days of exchange and cooperation promise to shape the next steps in building innovative, internationally connected teacher education across the ENLIGHT alliance.
