Summary
The main objective of this Blended Intensive Programme is to support educators and higher education professionals in understanding and responding to the opportunities and challenges that artificial intelligence and emerging digital technologies bring to contemporary teaching and learning. Through the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and examples of good practice among participants from partner institutions, the programme aims to foster innovative, responsible, and student-centred approaches to education in the 21st century.
The programme combines theoretical insights with practice-oriented activities, enabling participants to explore how AI and digital technologies are reshaping teaching practices, student learning, critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and engagement with knowledge in a globalized world. Particular attention is given to the role of educators in guiding students towards the critical, ethical, and constructive use of AI-supported tools. Interactive workshops and collaborative discussions provide opportunities for participants to reflect on current developments, share institutional experiences, and develop strategies for integrating AI into higher education while promoting academic integrity, ethical reasoning, and global citizenship.

Programme
The programme is delivered through an organised staff training week consisting of thematic workshops, collaborative activities, and a virtual component. The methodology is based on the principles of Challenge-Based Education (CBE), encouraging participants to address authentic educational challenges and explore practical solutions through cooperation and knowledge exchange.
Participants engage with real-world issues such as maintaining academic integrity in AI-rich environments, fostering authentic student engagement, supporting critical thinking, and developing transversal competencies including communication, collaboration, ethical reasoning, and global awareness. Through hands-on activities and the exchange of examples of good practice, participants gain practical experience with AI-supported educational tools and develop strategies for their meaningful implementation in teaching and learning processes.
As a result of the programme, participants strengthen their understanding of the pedagogical implications of AI, expand their professional networks, and acquire innovative approaches that can be transferred to their home institutions. The programme further contributes to enhancing institutional capacity to respond to the rapidly evolving educational landscape.
Virtual Component Description
The virtual component takes place both before and after the physical activity. Prior to the physical mobility, participants will attend an online introductory meeting aimed at getting to know each other, sharing expectations, and discussing the programme objectives. Interactive activities will be used to encourage engagement and facilitate networking among participants from different institutions and countries. The session will also provide space for questions and answers related to the programme content and practical arrangements.
Following the physical activity, a second online meeting will be organised as a reflection and evaluation session. Participants will discuss their learning experiences, share insights gained during the programme, and evaluate the effectiveness of the activities and workshops. The meeting will also serve as a platform for exchanging ideas on future cooperation and the implementation of acquired knowledge within participants' institutions. Evaluation questionnaires distributed during the staff week will provide a basis for discussion of the programme's strengths, areas for improvement, and overall impact.
