Launch Global Engagement module (Spring 2022)
Together with our colleagues from Ghent and in cooperation with all ENLIGHT partner universities, the UG ENLIGHT team is developing a 5 EC Global Engagement Module. It will be piloted in Spring 2022 for 45 students, 5 from each ENLIGHT partner university.
The module has the ambitious goal to lay the first foundations for student’s global citizenship and careers. In addition to a traditional disciplinary approach, it aims to equip them with generic competences and skills they need to face tomorrow’s challenges, such as understanding and awareness of diversity, collaborate effectively within a diverse team and take responsible action to achieve comprehensive solutions.
The module will consist of an introductory part on global engagement and diversity, and a hands-on challenge on real-life issues concerning climate change, migration and public health. Following its global spirit, the program will fully exploit ENLIGHT’s huge diversity potential. Its educational vision draws on activation of students and the provision of personalized feedback, both among students and by the teaching staff. In practice, teaching methods will include challenge-based learning, interdisciplinarity and peer learning and -assessment.
