First EC Webinar 'European Universities - first and second call' (4 November 2020)
The rectors of the European University Alliance ENLIGHT our looking forward to participate in a kick off webinar for rectors of the 24 European Universities Alliances that were selected under the second call of the European University Initiative, which is hosted by the European Commission on 4 November 2020.
After an official welcoming by Themis Christophidou, Director-General for Education, Youth Sport and Culture (DG EAC) in the European Commission, three rectors from alliances selected under the first call will discuss their first experiences and lessons learnt with the participants of the webinar. To emphasise the importance of student engagement for the European Universities Initiative a parallel session for students of all funded alliances will take place. The workshop gives students the opportunity to discuss best practices and to share their visions and recommendations for establishing European Universities.
In a subsequent webinar session, 279 rectors from all 41 European University Alliances that received funding in the first and second call will come together. The rectors will discuss the transformational potential of European Universities, the support of the EU Member States for the initiative as well as further discuss the important issue of student involvement in the development process of the projects. For this matter, designated student representatives who participated in the Student Session will share the students’ perspective and recommendations with the plenary.
