Understanding Impact in the Academic Context (Online Session): Registration Open

Understanding Impact in the Academic Context. Online Session. 2 Oct 2026. 10:00-13:00 CET

What do we actually mean by impact in the academic context? What is impact — and what is not? And how can we move from simply delivering activities and outputs to thinking about the changes and benefits they can generate?

This 3-hour online session aims to strengthen impact literacy across the ENLIGHT academic community, supporting the Alliance’s ambition to foster a stronger culture of impact. It is particularly relevant for ENLIGHT academics who are involved in, or interested in contributing to, ENLIGHT collaborative initiatives. Representatives of the ENLIGHT Impact Task Force will introduce key concepts and provide practical perspectives on:

  • what impact is — and what it is not;
  • different types and dimensions of impact;
  • the concepts of reach and significance in understanding impact;
  • why the context matters;
  • an overview of key approaches and tools for impact planning, assessment and communication.

The session will combine short inputs with reflection and discussion, creating space to explore what an impact-oriented approach can mean in practice for academics and collaborative initiatives. The session is primarily targeted at ENLIGHT academics, although participation from other colleagues interested in the topic is also welcome.

Registration deadline: 27 September 2026.
Register HERE.

We look forward to meeting you and exploring impact together!
