ENLIGHT Priority Team Meets in Bratislava to Drive Joint Degrees and Launch JEDLAmP Initiative
On 14–15 September 2026, representatives from across the ENLIGHT Alliance gathered in Bratislava for the two-day workshop "ENLIGHT JPs: Strategy to Action." Organised by the Joint Programme Priority Team, the meeting brought team members together to align strategies, simplify administrative processes, and expand joint study options for students across Europe.
A central highlight of the workshop was advancing the JEDLAmP project (Joint European Degree Label Launching and Amplification Project). Coordinated by Ghent University with all ten ENLIGHT partners participating, JEDLAmP was recently selected for funding by the European Commission under the Joint European Degree Label Exploratory Action. The project acts as a real-world testing ground—combining existing Erasmus Mundus joint programmes with brand-new joint degrees under development—to refine how the new European Degree Label works in practice and cut down administrative hurdles for students and faculty alike.
The workshop also created valuable space for dialogue on national higher education policy. Dr. Peter Ondreička from the Slovak Ministry of Education presented national perspectives on international degree integration, while Silvester Krčméry, Rector’s Proxy for ENLIGHT at Comenius University, welcomed guests by emphasizing the true goal of these efforts: moving past administrative hurdles like credit transfers and accreditation so students can experience ENLIGHT as a single, connected campus.
Looking ahead, the Priority Team set clear action items for the upcoming academic year: creating lean validation steps for new joint programmes, developing shared quality criteria, and publishing reusable tools and policy recommendations. Through JEDLAmP and continuous cross-university collaboration, ENLIGHT is actively shaping a more connected, flexible, and accessible European higher education landscape.
