Culture as an Advocate of Sustainability
The ENLIGHT BIP course “Connecting cultures: Sustainability, travel, translation and migration” celebrates its onsite week in Vitoria-Gasteiz, at the University of the Basque Country.
Students from seven ENLIGHT partners, along with lecturers from UPV/EHU, UGalway, UGroningen and UTartu, are taking part in the course, which also benefits from the knowledge and experience of external experts (Unesco Etxea, Etxepare Euskal Institutua, Basque Culinary Center, Accem and Irsearaba, coordinated by Hibridalab) who are proposing challenges to work upon during the academic sessions.
The course will address topics such as prehistoric and environmental literature, the impact of cultural initiatives on the environment or how cultural narratives can contribute to a just sustainability.
Students will present the results of the projects carried out throughout the week during a seminar where the Teaching body, researchers from the Faculty of Arts at the University of the Basque Country (IdeoLIT) and International experts will debate with all learners on their proposals.
All lecturers will take this opportunity to explore further collaborations among them within ENLIGHT and to consider their participation in an ENLIGHT common call, aiming to buttress the cooperations so far achieved.
