UNDERSTANBEL is a virtual course that offers students the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of Belarus—regarded as an important bellwether for future developments in Europe—through an interdisciplinary, collaborative, challenge-based and problem-solving learning framework. The course aims to equip students with the ability to identify and apply the most appropriate methodological approaches for studying a “closed” society, while fostering deeper engagement, reflective inquiry, effective teamwork, and the development of creative, impactful solutions. It also helps students cultivate transferable skills that they can carry forward into their future academic and professional careers.

Objectives
UNDERSTANBEL is aimed at enhancing students’ critical thinking and practical competencies, strengthening the connection between academic knowledge and its real-world application, and preparing the students to navigate and address future challenges in understanding ”closed” societies and engaging with international realities.
