Certif’ISO is a serious game created by five university professors specializing in Quality, Industrial Logistics, and Organization (QLIO) to make learning the ISO 9001 standard more accessible, practical, and engaging.

Noting the complexity of these standards and the difficulty of teaching them, the team designed an immersive board game where participants embody a fictional organization and progress through three key stages: inventory, quality system development, and certification audit.

Throughout the game, teams answer knowledge-based questions about the standard, solve practical cases, and participate in interactive challenges. This playful approach promotes active learning, collaboration, engagement, and a concrete understanding of the requirements of the ISO 9001 standard.

Certif’ISO is flexible (from 4 to 8 hours), with two versions ("industry" or "training organization" board) and is aimed at a wide audience, both academic (from bachelor to master degree) and professional. Players can have a wide range of knowledge about quality standards, from basic to advanced understanding.

The game is already being used in around sixty organizations in France and internationally, with very positive feedback. Rewarded with two Quality Awards in 2025, Certif'ISO continues its development, notably with an  ISO 45001 version expected at the end of 2025. This success illustrates the power of gamification in teaching technical subjects.
