Find ENLIGHT colleagues with our partner search tool! 

The new ENLIGHT partner match-making tool to stimulate and extend cooperation links within the ENLIGHT community was launched. Researchers and other staff members who are looking to joining forces with colleagues in the ENLIGHT community to develop a joint project, extend an initiative or start a new collaboration can submit their request via the new partner search form.

Join the ENLIGHT Impact Assessment Session on 26 May 2021

The ENLIGHT Work Package Impact differs from the Quality Assurance in the Work Package Management & Quality, but complements it at the same time. Impact is related to long-term outcomes generating positive value to different stakeholders, whereas Quality refers to key performance indicators and other project-advancement results. The first impact assessment session will take place on 26 May 2021.

 

Save-the-date: Upcoming Communities and Universities event on 18 June 2021!

In connection to the ENLIGHT mid-year meeting there will be another public 'Communities and Universities' session 'by' and 'for' representatives from the nine ENLIGHT cities and regions. The digital meeting will take place on June 18th between 10.00 to 12.00 CET, taking off where the last 'Communities and Universities' meeting concluded during the ENLIGHT-kick off week of March 2021.



Save-the-date: ENLIGHT Teaching and Learning Conference (Ghent, 18-19 November 2021)

The first ENLIGHT Teaching and Learning conference will take place in Ghent on 18-19 November of this year. The central theme “Learning with and from Each Other: Peer Learning across all Layers of the University” refers to the continuous building of ENLIGHT as a learning community with various stakeholders. The event will be on-campus with some programme elements made available online. Starting from mid-June we will share more information on how to include your own experiences, course designs, and concepts together with the call-for-proposals.

ENLIGHT Regional Academies bringing European cities and communities closer together - Spotlight Comenius University Bratislava

 

As of April 30, all ENLIGHT partners have established their Regional Academies. The Regional Academies connects each partner university with local and regional actors within their communities in order to identify the local interpretations of the ENLIGHT flagship challenges.

Rik Van de Walle and Mieke Van Herreweghe re-elected as rector and vice-rector of Ghent University

Rik Van de Walle and Mieke Van Herreweghe were re-elected as (Vice)Rector of Ghent University in the first round of the elections. The duo obtained a vast majority of votes from the four electoral groups (professors, assistant academic staff, administrative and technical staff, students) which illustrates the strong support the Ghent University community is showing for the duo who will start their second term of office starting in October 2021.

French Government to support ENLIGHT through "Investissements d'avenir" programme via the University of Bordeaux with 865,185 €.

The financial support from the French Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation through its Investment for the Future programme (PIA), operated by the National Research Agency (ANR), will help the implementation of ENLIGHT and further the internationalization of training and research at the University of Bordeaux.

2nd Göttingen Call for Applications in ENLIGHT

The University of Göttingen will fund different projects in the area of teaching and learning, research and administration that are part of the ENLIGHT portfolio for affiliates of the University of Göttingen together with its ENLIGHT partners. Both, new and established collaborations or projects are welcome for application and must be thematically linked to one of the ENLIGHT challenges or other ENLIGHT focus areas. Deadline for this call will be 18 July 2021.



INNOVATION DAY - Uppsala University

‍Innovation Day is a concept by EIT Health that gives students the opportunity to learn about innovation processes while contributing to solving complex real-world challenges that are provided by various change makers. Students work together in interdisciplinary, cross-faculty groups and are able to train their problem solving- and pitching skills. The next opportunity to join will be 4 June 2021.

MA Educational Technology at University of Tartu

The University of Tartu offers a one-year partly online Master’s programme in Educational Technology that is designed to provide an opportunity for professional development to people who are working or plan to work in positions that involve teaching and wish to use educational technology more effectively in their work. The extended deadline for EU applicants is 30 June 2021.

University of Groningen launches 'Aletta Year'

The University of Groningen launches the Aletta Year to highlight the theme of ‘Women in Academia’. The University community will be honouring Aletta Jacobs with a year-long programme filled with jointly organized activities to draw continuing attention to the role of diversity in academia. ENLIVE virtual exchange pilot review Spring edition 2021

This spring saw the first successful edition of ENLIVE (ENLIGHT Network Language and Intercultural Virtual Exchange) connect students from across the ENLIGHT network. Together, students build relationships, discuss current social issues and work towards a micro social media campaign. Webinar Series Living Through Covid -19: A Lifecourse Perspective (NUI Galway Institute for Lifecourse and Society)

The Institute for Lifecourse and Society at NUI Galway (ILAS) is delighted to announce a series of 6 weekly, free to public virtual conversations taking place between Thursday 15th April - Thursday 20th May - 6pm -7pm CET. Each week the conversations will bring together the views of academics, policymakers and most importantly citizens directly affected by the coronavirus and who are living with its consequences. Save-the-date: The virtual Summer Festival (23 August - 3 September 2021)

The IVAC Summer Festival, which is being organised within the framework of the DAAD-funded project "Changing Perspectives - Global Learning: Intercultural Experiences and Interdisciplinary Diversity", offers students and teachers from Göttingen and international partner universities a multifaceted programme on the topic of international virtual academic collaborations. Registration will approximately start at the end of May 2021.

Conference "Interactions between German studies and neighboring disciplines" (Tartu, 14-15 October 2021)

On 14-15 October 2021 a postgraduate conference on “Interactions between German studies and neighboring disciplines” will take place at the University of Tartu. The conference is part of a doctoral school funded by the DAAD and is open to (Post) PhD students in philology or other humanities that would like to evaluate and explore the challenges and opportunities of interdisciplinary interactions with German studies in their projects. Abstracts on your research projects together with the registration form must be submitted by 15 June. Find more information on the programme and registration.

International Criminal Court Summer School (Galway, 8-11 June 2021)

The annual International Criminal Court Summer School at the Irish Centre for Human Rights will take place from 8-11 June 2021. The interactive and stimulating course is particularly suited to postgraduate students, legal professionals, scholars and those working for non-governmental and intergovernmental organisations. Registration is now open with 20 places, free of charge, available to students across the ENLIGHT network.

Facemask Disposal and Recycle Containers - University of the Basque Country

The Spanish National strategy for the COVID-19 response includes the compulsory and uninterrupted use of facemasks both in and outdoors. Along with this, the University of the Basque Country provides personal protective equipment to its 7,000 staff members (academics and administrative), including disposal masks. As a result, a significant amount of waste is generated in our campuses and cities. Our Direction for Sustainability has reacted to mitigate this extremely adverse environmental impact by displaying facemasks recycling bins across the university.
