About the course
Content
The online programme is divided into two modules and each is addressing one educational challenge:
Module 1: Meaningful technology use in education - Challenge: How can we engage digital technologies in meaningful ways?

- Video as a tool for reflection
- Collaborative video annotation.
Module 2: Pedagogy in the XXI Century - Challenge: How can pedagogy respond to the ongoing digital transformations in society?
- Digital pedagogy
- Digital literacy
- Collaborative learning.
In addition to webinars, group-works and individual assignments under the guidance of our best professors, the summer university course will be completed by a round table conversation with a educational technologists. The roundtable will provide the opportunity for the students to see how educational technology is incorporated in concrete educational settings.
Learning outcomes
Upon completing the programme the student:
- is familiar with new technology and methodology in education and knows how to apply some in their work;
- knows the development of online education/educational technology/technology-enhanced learning;
- applies theories and ideas of education to his/her work;
- critically analyses the challenges and complexity of technology use in education.
Programme
At least two weeks before, you will receive an email with the welcome information, detailed programme, and practical information. We will use the flipped classroom approach, which means that webinars are introduced by videos and/or readings that the participants are supposed to review beforehand.
The webinars start after 16.00h (Estonian time) and all meetings will be recorded so that they can be reviewed afterwards.

Assessment
Assessment is based on the accomplishment of the study goals of the programme: knowledge of the subject matter on the basis of readings, active participation in the class and individual assignment.
The main assignment will be project-based: student will be asked to design an educational intervention as a video presentation, which would ideally contribute to re-imagining education in a hopefully post-covid19 world.
Further details about the assignments will be given during the first day. Deadline for submission is December 3rd.
