We are looking for ENLIGHT partners interested in projects on Education and Training in Radiation Protection (RP). Application of ionizing radiation brings about radiological hazards; adequate education of staff and students is therefore essential. The current revival of nuclear energy, as well as the decommissioning of many old facilities require a sustainable workforce, adequately educated in RP. Furthermore, the mobility of RP professionals and radiation workers within the EU requires the possibility to compare competences and qualifications attained in RP.
The University of Groningen (UG) intends to contribute to – among others – tackling the before mentioned challenges. As an associate of EUTERP (see http://www.euterp.eu/) we are looking for additional partners. UG will host the next workshop of EUTERP (26 – 27 June 2023), preceding the 8th international conference on Education & Training in Radiation Protection (ETRAP 2023, 27 – 30 June, etrap.net).
We kindly invite interested ENLIGHT partners for an online brainstorm session early 2023, discussing possible projects in this field. The EUTERP workshop or ETRAP 2023 conference might offer the possibility for a face-to-face meeting.
