I am organizing a workshop on the knowledge production and diffusion channels and practices in international economic and climate policymaking. How do ideas turn into policy recommendations promoted by international organizations, NGOs, or epistemic communities? This international workshop will provide an interdisciplinary exchange of expertise on knowledge-related roles of transnational actors.
The main purpose of the event is to establish a research network for developing an effective multidisciplinary assessment of the content, sources, and dissemination of policy knowledge. The workshop aims to push the theoretical and empirical discussion of the role of global governance actors in every step of this process as well as the demand side of this interaction, namely the target audiences of disseminated knowledge (individuals, transnational groups, companies, and states). The workshop focuses on two themes: IOs engaged in economic issues (World Bank, IMF, multinational development banks) and in climate issues (UNFCCC, IPCC, UNEP).
